A GLOBAL MOVEMENT
From a 75-person conference just outside London for Jewish educators from different parts of the community and their families over the winter holidays in 1980, Limmud has become a global organisation.
While each group is independent, we are connected by common values, training and community.
Volunteers visit and support each others’ events, and the week-long Limmud Festival each December in the UK remains a focal point for hundreds of volunteers around the world to join 2,500 other participants in a unique and intense celebration of Jewish learning and culture.
In the last 30-something years, Limmud has grown to 90 groups across 42 countries, with more than 70 events being run worldwide by 4000 volunteers for over 40,000 participants.
